When coming to a nursing facility, transportation can be an issue. We have some vans equipped with a wheelchair lift available to take our residents to appointments. This takes some of the worry out of not being able to get around the community as well as they used to. We also use the van to go to activities that we have set up such as shopping, meals and fairs.

Our Activity Department sets up various outings for residents to participate in. The residents are able to go shopping at local establishments, eat at a restaurant of their choosing or go to various functions that may be occurring in the community such as fairs and charity breakfasts.

Our communities offer laundry services to the residents. We wash the clothing, sheets and towels on a daily basis. We take all skin sensitivity issues into consideration and wash the clothes accordingly. Clean belongings are very important and we know that the residents and the families expect and appreciate a neat and clean appearance.

When family and friends come in to visit one of our residents they may purchase meals for a small fee. The communities offer a main meal or an alternative to choose from. These meals are mostly all homemade and nutritious. Our holiday meals are a not to miss event! Get ready for your whole family to RSVP!

Cleanliness is a top priority at our facilities. Resident rooms and restrooms are cleaned and sanitized daily. We like the community to look great and be a healthy environment to live in. Our housekeepers are very diligent about their duties and use products that are safe and effective.

Our communities all offer restaurant style dining for our residents and their families. We have a menu of items that are available from the kitchen at your request that includes an alternative to what is on the daily schedule. For your convenience, we offer full meals, beverages and desserts as well as snacks that are delicious and healthy.

Coming to a nursing facility can be a big change in a person’s life. We don’t want anybody feel like they are losing their privacy so all of our communities offer the option of extra large rooms and private rooms to all of our residents if they are available. A private room can be utilized to ensure extra space and privacy for the individual, including their own bathroom.

Our patios offer great seating to enjoy the beautiful weather. We have a garden set up with flowers and vegetables that the residents can help plant and maintain if they would like. All of our residents and guests are able to sit out side to watch the birds come to the many feeders and birdbaths we have in the garden as well. It is a nice, relaxing retreat.

We love pets! Our residents are able to meet a variety of animals that come to visit on a regular basis. Therapy dogs come in to visit at least once a month and employees bring their pets in to meet the residents. If a resident still has a pet, we welcome their pet to visit at any time.

If you ever need to have a private party for a birthday, holiday or just because, we have plenty of room available to use to celebrate. We can accommodate many guests for your party in our community rooms. We can also provide food, supplies and help for your party. Anything we can do to help with the special day, let us know!

If the time comes to where hospice care is requested, it is nice having a specially designed, calm and comfortable space to live in. Caledonia Care & Rehab offers beautiful, quiet rooms for our hospice patients. They offer an intimate environment where guests can visit without any disturbances.

We think it is important to keep our families and community members up to date with what is happening in our facilities. We mail out quarterly newsletters that include upcoming events, birthdays, news and articles with information from our department heads.

Many visitors that come to our homes are children. We have a variety of items and toys available for them to play with to help keep them entertained.

We want our residents and guests to be able to access the internet whenever they need to. A computer area is available to use the internet at your convenience.

All of our communities are equipped with wireless internet for our residents and guests to use. It is a free public network that can be accessed anywhere in the building. It is great to be able to use the internet on your personal computer away from home.

All of our communities offer a clean, therapeutic bathing experience in a spa like setting. We have easy access whirlpool bath tubs that are available for all residents. Most of our spa tubs are also available to the local community. The jets on the whirlpool are great to reinvigorate tired or sore muscles.

There are new advances on diabetes research. We take the time to educate our diabetic residents on new things that can be done to help them. Whether it is meetings to go over food choices or education on exercise, we are willing to do whatever it takes. We monitor their levels regularly and go over any changes and what they can do to get the normal levels back. We like to take hands on approach in our diabetes education.

Every community has a physician who is on call at all hours of the day and night. If there are ever any questions or issues that arise, they are available and always willing to help us out. It is reassuring to know that a physician will always be on call to help if a concern is brought up, even late at night.

We take proper nutrition seriously. Each community has a certified dietician that comes into the community to go over the meal plans for each resident, since their needs are so varied. We want them to eat as many healthy meals as possible, while also getting desserts and snacks. The dietitian takes into consideration each person’s dietary needs and makes recommendations about the best foods for them to have. Our kitchen staff uses these to prepare good, wholesome meals that are homemade every day.
